In this episode of "For the Health of IT," Vinnie Tortorich joins the show to discuss diet, nutrition and fitness. He talks about the vast amount of work he has done over the past 40 or so years to help people lose weight and improve their overall health. What he says may surprise you and certainly bucks the conventional wisdom that became gospel decades ago.
Vinnie Tortorich is an American fitness expert, author, podcaster, and businessman. He attended Tulane University on a football scholarship where he earned a degree in exercise physiology and nutrition. Vinnie is best known for promoting the “No Sugar No Grains” (NSNG®) lifestyle, a clean and low-carbohydrate diet approach. He has been a personal trainer for over 30 years, working with Hollywood celebrities, athletes, and everyday individuals.
Vinnie is often referred to as “America’s Angriest Trainer” because of his passionate and outspoken stance against the misinformation and misleading practices in the fitness and nutrition industries. He believes that many people have been misled by false promises and ineffective products, which has fueled his frustration and determination to set the record straight.
Vinnie authored the best-selling book “Fitness Confidential: Adventures in the Weight-Loss Game” and hosts the popular and sometimes R-rated “Fitness Confidential Podcast.” He has also founded several companies, including Pure Vitamin Club, Pure Coffee Club, and NSNG Foods. In 2019, he co-created and starred in the documentary “FAT: A Documentary,” which topped the iTunes charts for independent films.
